MMD is a public limited company formed in 1994. It is the exclusive licensee for broadcast radio and TV in Monaco. The frequencies licensed to MCR are all those specified and allocated to Monaco by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Consequently, MMD broadcasts both on digital (DAB+; HD DVB-T), FM and long and medium waves from its transmitter sites in Monaco, Col de la Madone and Roumoules (in Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence, France).
